Weekend Retreat : The Four Seals of Buddhism with Geshe Tsultrim

23 November @ 9:00 am - 24 November @ 3:30 pm AEST

Buddhism is distinguished by four characteristics, or “seals”. If a path contains these four seals, it can be considered the path of the Buddha.

The four seals are:

  1. All compounded things are impermanent.
  2. All emotions are painful.
  3. All phenomena are empty; they are without inherent existence. This is actually the ultimate view of Buddhism; the other three are grounded on this third seal.
  4. Nirvana is beyond extremes.

Through explanation, Q&A and meditation, Geshela will introduce us to these four essential elements Buddhism.

This retreat weekend will start with Geshela teaching at 9.00am on Saturday morning 25th May.

Although of course it is more beneficial to attend the entire weekend, students will still be welcome to attend an individual session if that is their routine. A full schedule will be posted here soon.

All sessions will be available in person and on zoom

About our Teacher:

Our resident Tibetan teacher, Geshe Phuntsok Tsultrim is immensely popular for the warm and approachable way in which he presents the teachings and inspires our community. He became a monk at Sera Je Monastery in India, where he was awarded his Geshe degree (the equivalent of a doctorate in Buddhist studies) in 2005. He began teaching at Chenrezig Institute in 2014 after being chosen for our community by Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

Geshe Tsultrim has a warm-hearted, caring and practical approach to teaching Dharma. He has been the resident Geshe at Chenrezig Institute since 2014 and since then, he has taught Dharma both formally in the Gompa, and by the example he sets amongst the community.

Registration is available in person and online.
