Green Tara Practice Day

29/10/2022 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm AEST

$30.00 – $60.00
Green Tara

About Event:

Tara is the female manifestation of the Buddha’s omniscient mind.  She represents the wisdom and compassionate actions of all the enlightened beings in a female form, who helps sentient beings to successfully accomplish their goals.  Tara is quick to respond to our prayers.

Meditating on Tara is a very powerful way to identify and connect with our own inner potential for wisdom and compassion.  Remembering Tara, and reciting the praises to Tara, and her mantra help to eliminate any obstacles to the spiritual path and frees us from fear as we engage in our own compassionate actions to benefit others.

Praying to Tara help us to:

  • achieve success in our dharma practice and in our daily lives;
  • be protected from fears, harms and dangers;
  • gain good health and auspicious energy;
  • obtain good rebirths in your future lives;
  • complete the accumulation of both merit and wisdom;
  • and quickly attain enlightenment.

About Teacher:

Venerable Tony first made contact with the Buddhadharma in Nepal and India in 1976. Following this he trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse, then in the 1980s was based at Chenrezig Institute during which time he served at different times as the cook, office worker and gardener.  Following ordination, as a monk in 1991, he lived for seventeen years at Nalanda monastery, France and Thubten Shedrup Ling Monastery, Bendigo.

He has led retreats and courses at various FPMT centres throughout the world as well as teaching in prisons and schools.

Venerable Tony has most recently been based at Mahamudra Centre in New Zealand, teaching and doing personal retreat.  We are delighted that Ven. Tony will be back at Chenrezig Institute in late October and through November.
