Discovering Buddhism : Module 1 Mind and its Potential : retreat weekend

8 June @ 9:30 am - 9 June @ 3:45 pm AEST

About Event:

We started a new round of these practical and inspiring Discovering Buddhism teachings in May 2024, Now we continue with the first retreat weekend where the materials presented in the teaching weekend can be examined, questioned and meditated upon in order to establish clarity.

The first module, Mind and its Potential, encouraged us to examine the mind itself, its nature and functions and how it affects our experience of happiness and suffering. You will have explored the differentiation between mind and brain, mind as the creator of our experiences, and the implications of possessing a mind that has no beginning and no end. In addition, you will have learned methods to transform destructive thoughts and attitudes and create a positive and joyous mind.

This retreat weekend will offer a wonderful opportunity to develop our understanding of the material presented in the teaching weekend on this subject, to question and discuss, and to contemplate and meditate on this profound subject.

Although it is best to have attended the previous month’s teaching weekend it is not essential and catchup materials will be made available.
