Discovering Buddhism – Introduction to Tantra Retreat Weekend

14/10/2023 @ 9:00 am - 15/10/2023 @ 3:45 pm AEST

$60.00

About Event:

In the previous study weekend course we started to look at a most important aspect of Tibetan Buddhism, the practice of Tantra, utilising the enlightened energy of a deity to develop those enlightened qualities within ourselves.

Now in this retreat weekend we will further investigate these practices and work on integrating the practice of tantra with lam-rim meditation for optimal results.

Students wishing to attend this weekend retreat should ideally have attended the previous study weekend or the Arya Tara retreat scheduled just prior to this weekend course.

PLEASE NOTE: the Zoom, Youtube and Dropbox links (where you will find the readings etc) will be included on the ticket you will receive after registration. If you do not receive this ticket or cannot find the links please contact spc@chenrezig.com.au

About Teacher:

Ven Tony first made contact with the Buddha-dharma in Nepal and India in 1976. Following this, he trained and worked for four years as a psychiatric nurse, and then in the 1980s was based at Chenrezig Institute during which time he served at different times as the cook, office worker, and gardener.

Following ordination as a monk in1991, he lived for seventeen years at Nalanda Monastery in France and served as director at Thubten Shedrup Ling monastery in Bendigo. He has led retreats and courses at various FPMT centres throughout the world, as well as teaching in prisons and schools. Ven Tony lived at Chenrezig Institute until recently and we are fortunate that he is now returning for these special teachings.
